Flashback to 2016. I was the sole speech therapist at a satellite private practice. I had few resources and the resources I did have were very outdated. Parents were asking for homework and I found myself creating work to send home and engaging activities to do in my therapy room.
Personally, my husband and I were doing a complete remodel of our home (and if you know me, that’s not my idea of fun). After a week of our house being completed, Louisiana experienced the “Great Flood of 2016” and we had to start from scratch again. I knew then that I needed something for ME. That’s when TpT began!
I started uploading a few things but didn’t see great results. Little did I know, I had SO much to learn. Flash forward to August 2017 and we welcomed our first little boy. Any mama reading this knows how much I dreaded going back to work when my maternity leave ended. After much thought, I decided to take a leap of faith and go down to part-time and I spent the other days at home with my son and building my TpT store. I worked crazy long hours and stayed up way too late. But I’ll be honest, I loved every second of it.
Over the next two years, I worked HARD at building my store and brand. It’s true when they say this isn’t an overnight success and if you really want results, you have to be willing to put in the work.
Today, I’m incredibly thankful and grateful for my TpT business and journey. I’ve grown from making $4.25 my first month on TpT to making a six-figure yearly income. I work part time as a contract SLP and supervisor only because I still truly love being an SLP. I have full flexibility in my schedule and I don’t miss any of my boys’ activities or appointments. To me, that is my “why.”
I’ll continue to grow and develop my TpT business and I’m SO excited to now help others grow in theirs.
